Where would you recommend people eat before the dance?

I would recommend Steak and Shake because you can get a shake and a quick meal for a decent price before or after the dance. I usually go after the dance and get a shake which is a great ending to the evening.

How do you feel about being nominated for homecoming court?

I feel very excited and honored about being nominated. I didn’t expect to make it on the court this year and was very surprised when I was notified that I was a finalist. I’m am honored to have been chosen for this role by a teacher and the student body. I’m excited to be a part of this experience and participate in the coronation assembly and the half time of the Homecoming football game.

Does this Homecoming mean anything special to you? Especially since it is your last one?

I have been a part of Student Council for four years and have always played a part in planning the dance, locker and hallway decorations. I will miss being a part of this experience and attending this dance, as it is my last one. However, I’m excited to spend time at the dance with my boyfriend and friends and think that this will be my favorite Homecoming.

Where is the best place to buy outfits from?

When I buy dress shirts and pants, Kohl’s is usually my best bet! Compared to stores like JC Penny and high-end stores in the mall, Kohl’s has a wide array of colors and styles for a lower price. And sometimes you can score a 30% off coupon.

What are you looking forward to the most this homecoming?

I’m really excited for the football game! With this being my last Homecoming game, it’s bittersweet. Being in the stands with all my closest friends is such a blast, and I’m really going to miss the Friday night lights when I graduate.

Do you have any Homecoming traditions that you would like to pass onto the younger generations of Conant students?

Have a post-dance bonfire at either yours or a friend’s house. This is a great way to burn the energy that you have left over from the dance. And you’ll actually be able to hear each other when you talk, unlike the loud gymnasium!

The light up bracelets will look cool at the dance, but too bad there isn’t one that matches my shirt…

It’s weird to think this is my last Homecoming dance. Since it’s the fall, I haven’t quite started thinking about how this year is my last everything. I plan to enjoy every minute of the dance and every activity that I participate in this school year.
