The Conant Crier is a news site written for and run by students. We aim to provide accurate, relevant, interesting, and diverse content to the Conant High School community. The Crier serves as a forum for public dialogue and encourages praise and criticism from our readers. We invite readers to write letters to the editor as well as comment on published content. Comments are moderated, and no abusive or otherwise inappropriate content will be published.
Letters to the editor can be sent to [email protected] Name and year must be included with the letter, or it will not be published. For the sake of clarity and/or space, the Crier reserves the right to edit or condense any submitted material. The Crier cannot guarantee publication upon submission.
Crier Editorial Staff 2017-2018
Dhvanii is the editor-in-chief and a senior. This is her fourth year on the staff; she was a Features editor her sophomore year and a writer her freshman year. Dhvanii is looking forward to a great year leading the staff. At Conant, Dhvanii is also member of BPA, Debate team, HOSA, and Principal Advisory Board. Outside of school, Dhvanii likes to volunteer and binge watch her favorite TV shows. An interesting fact about Dhvanii is she is a black belt in karate.
Aditi Katwala is a senior at Conant High School. She is excited for her final year working on the Crier as an editor in chief. She is also the captain of the Congressional Debate Team, president of HOSA, and involved in BPA. In her free time, she enjoys Indian classical dancing, Netflix and volunteering at local hospitals. Something that many don't know about Aditi is that she did her Bharatnatyam Arangetram (dance graduation) during the summer of 2014.
Annika is a senior, and this is her fourth year on the Crier staff. She is a co-Editor in Chief and has previously been the entertainment editor. She also plays soccer, and is a member of National Honor Society and BPA. Outside of school, Annika enjoys reading and playing with her pet cats.
Allison is a senior and the news editor for the Crier. This is her third year on the staff. She is also involved in Speech Team, National Honor Society, and Student Council. In her free time, she likes to read, write, and watch Netflix.
Sarah is a senior and is Opinions Editor for the Crier. This is her first year on staff. She also plays lacrosse and participates in Science Olympiad and Speech Team. Outside of school, she enjoys doing puzzles, reading, and listening to podcasts.
Eleanor So Yeon Park
Eleanor is a senior and is a digital artist for Crier. This is her third year being on the Crier staff. She participates in the school orchestra and an orchestra outside of school, enjoys drawing, and spending time with her friends and family.
Melania is a senior and a graphic artist for the Crier. This is her third year on the Crier staff. Melania is an active member of NHS, Tri-M, digital media club, art club, and service club. She is also involved at school as a crew member of the drama club and one of the flute section leaders in Conant's marching and pep bands. Outside of school, Melania attends the Merit School of Music in downtown Chicago to polish her bassoon-playing skills, and she chooses to spend her free time drawing, browsing the web, and hanging out with friends.
Maggie is a senior at Conant High School. This is her second year on the Crier staff as a Photographer. Her other activities include hockey, playing the piano and creating films. One interesting fact you may not know is that she can solve a Rubik's Cube in 10 seconds, which she competes in competitions across the US for. Outside of school, she loves to spend time with her family and hang out with friends.
Arisha is a junior at Conant High School and works as an Entertainment editor in the Crier staff. Arisha is also on the Conant tennis team. She loves to spend time with family, read books, sketch, and listen to music.
Iqra is a junior, and this is her second year as an opinions writer on the Crier staff. She is also part of the speech team, junior class council, and PALS club. In her free time, she enjoys watching Netflix and spending time with her family.
Michelle is a junior at Conant Highschool, and this is her second year on the Crier staff. This year she is going to be the editor of the new Lifestyle section. During the school year she is on the golf team and the math team. Outside of school she loves to bake, read, and spend time with her family.
Isaac is a junior and a sports editor. This is his second year on the Crier staff. Isaac is a member of the Debate team and PRIDE. Outside of school, he watches sports whenever he can and reads anything to do with sports.
Rhea is a junior and she is one of the features editors. She is a member of Swim & Dive, Peer Mediation, NHS, Science Olympiad, and HOSA. Outside of school, Rhea likes to read and scroll through Twitter for pictures of baby animals.
Sarah is a junior and one of the Features editors. She plays soccer and is part of BPA, Spanish Club, and Political Club. In her free time, she reads comic books and listens to music.
Futo is a junior and is the multimedia editor for crier. This is her first year on the crier. In her free time, she enjoys drawing and playing the piano.

My name is Shreya Katwala and I'm a freshman. I am currently a news writer for the Crier and some other activities I am in right now or planning on joining are Tennis, Debate, BPA, HOSA, Science Olympiad, and Badminton. My main hobbies consist of reading and writing but I also like traveling and sightseeing.
